The annual Food-a-thon is Tuesday May 19. The Food-a-thon is a benefit for 5 pantries in the Orange-Athol area and has provided donations of food and cash for the past 16 years so that the pantries can help neighbors in need. This year, to keep everyone safe, only financial donations can be accepted.
The 5 pantries are the Orange Food Pantry, Our Lady Immaculate Pantry, the Salvation Army Pantry, St. Vincent DePaul Pantry of St. Mary’s Church and Wendell Good Neighbors.
Donations may be made online by going to https://www.nqfoodathon.com/ or the North Quabbin Food-A-Thon Facebook page. You can also mail a check; please make the check out to the Food-a-thon fiscal sponsor “Tully CCC” and write “Food-a-thon” on the memo line. Please mail checks to Tully CCC, PO Box 484, Orange, MA 01364.
Coverage of this year’s virtual Food-a-thon will take place as usual on AOTV channel 1301 and radio station WVAO 105.9fm from 6:00am to 6:00pm. Tune in to hear from Congressman Jim McGovern, State Representative Suzanne Whipps, State Senator Jo Comerford, pantry representatives, concerned citizens and local musicians.
