FCCMP’s mission is to work in partnership with the community to alleviate hunger. This past weekend, several partners really stood up and helped us feed our neighbors in need through all 3 of our free community meal sites and our Orange Food Pantry.
The Franklin Land Trust’s Deerfield Dirt Road Randonee was held on August 17. This great event, for an important local non-profit that works to preserve our beautiful countryside, hosted 1500 riders this year. FLT provides food to riders along the 100-some mile route. Food that wasn’t consumed by the riders was passed along to several food pantries, including FCCMP. Many thanks to FLT, especially Linda and Mary Lynn, for providing bananas, bread, pickles and snacks to FCCMP.
The 15th Annual Greenfield Free Harvest Supper was held on August 18. Kirsten Levitt, the chef-in-chief, prepared 18 different dishes for the hundreds of people in attendance. With many generous donors, more than enough food was prepared for the diners on the Greenfield common. Extra food was given to several local non-profits including FCCMP. This food will be served at upcoming free community meals at both our Greenfield and Orange meal sites. Thank you to all who contributed to the Greenfield Harvest Supper and to Kirsten for passing along the bounty to FCCMP.
